Best Practices for Effective eCommerce with Jeff Nelson, NACS; Joe Stringer, Grand Canyon University; Katy Grobe, Waldorf University and Karla Schaeferk, Waldorf University
Fifty-eight percent of online shoppers reported purchasing items online that they normally would in-store (MyTotalRetail.com, 8/3/2020), and college students reported 41% of their purchases were made online in 2019, while 30% said if everything they needed was available online, they might stop shopping at physical stores altogether (OnCampus Research Student Panel, March 2019). Most campus stores entered 2020 with an eCommerce site, though the utilization and
sophistication varied wildly from store to store. When the pandemic hit, the importance of the eCommerce sales channel skyrocketed for everyone. In this session, hear from a panel of campus store professionals and web designers who will share their best practices, challenges, and plans for 2020 and beyond. Your web presence may be one of the biggest factors in your success, not only today, but into the foreseeable future.

Learning Objectives:
• Attendees will be able to identify best practices for an eCommerce site that maximizes the online customers’ experience
• Attendees will be able to apply principles learned to their store’ eCommerce site and operate more effectively and efficiently.

Connections in a Time of Change Ed Schlichenmaer and Steven Westenbroek, NACS

What does your store need now more than ever? Community. Advocacy. Support. In the past year, NACS has gone through a lot of change and has now rededicated its priorities to strengthen the campus store community, advocate on behalf of the
industry, and provide support during these changing and uncertain times. Join the NACS CEO and current leadership for a transparent and encouraging conversation describing what NACS is working on, where the priorities lie, how new technology is providing better connections with members, and what it all means for you, your staff and your store.
Learning Objectives:
• Attendees will recognize the advocacy, community and support value that NACS provides stores and use online tools for ongoing industry updates.
• Attendees will be able to take action on at least one of NACS’ initiatives to assist in their store’s success.
